LG EnV2 Stuck in Bootloop

I have an old LG EnV2 (VX9100) that is stuck in a bootloop. I will make two things clear now:

  1. I do NOT really use this cell phone anymore, so I am NOT interested in asking the carrier or manufacturer for help. The warranty is expired anyways.

  2. This is NOT a smartphone. Do not mistake it for one.

  3. I do NOT care about any of the data that is/was stored on this phone.

With that being said, I will detail the status of this phone. When power is applied, the phone displays the Verizon Wireless logo for a few seconds. Then, it goes black again and repeats the process until power is removed. This happens regardless of whether it is started by plugging it into a computer or started using the power button. There is one other thing I can make this phone do. If I plug the phone into power with the battery removed and the outside "5" button held down, it will display the VZW logo, "Downloading...", and the LG Electronics logo, all on a white background. I found instructions on some other site for using the LGPNST to flash new firmware to the phone while it is in this mode. However, as far as I remember, this utility only offered to copy the phone book, not to actually fix the firmware.

Can anyone help?

P.S. If I put this topic in the wrong forum, I am very sorry.
