Sony Xperia T2 Ultra: Back Up / Restore Data and Reload Device Software via Sony PC Companion

Downloading the Sony PC Companion Tool:

1. Lancez le navigateur Internet sur votre ordinateur et de votre visite Télécharger pour PC - Sony Smartphones (états-unis)


2. Cliquez sur "Télécharger PC Companion"


3. After the file is downloaded, launch it and follow the on-screen steps to install the app on your computer

Backing up Data on a Computer Using Sony PC Companion:

1. Launch the Companion tool on your computer


2. Connect your Xperia T2 Ultra to your PC via USB


3. In the Companion tool, scroll to "Sauvegarde & Restauration" and click "Start". NOTE: when you use this feature for the first time, it will take a moment for "Backup and Restore" pour commencer


4. Cliquez sur "Backup"


5. Mark the check boxes next to the content that you want to back up on the computer


6. Cliquez sur "Next", and the Companion tool will start retrieving the needed file system information


7. When ready, enter a name for the backup file, then, click "Next"


8. After the backup file is created, click "OK"

NOTE: In case you receive an error message and some troubleshooting steps, then this generally means that the system hasn't been able to back up all the selected data



Using the Sony PC Companion Tool to Restore Files:

1. Open the Sony PC Companion tool on the PC


2. Connect the Xperia T2 Ultra to the computer via USB


3. Cliquez sur "Start" sous "Sauvegarde & Restauration". It may take a while for the system to start the process


4. When ready, select the backup file that you wish to load, and click "Restore"


5. Mark the check boxes that you wish to restore


6. Cliquez sur "Next"


7. After the Companion tool retrieves the necessary file system information, click "Next"


8. After the restoration process is done, follow any additional on-screen instructions and click "OK"


9. Once the files have been restored, click "OK"

NOTE: in case you will receive an error message with recommended troubleshooting steps, that might mean that not every file has been successfully restored



Using Sony PC Companion to Reinstall the Device Software:

1. Launch the Sony PC Companion tool on your PC


2. Use the USB cable to connect your smartphone to the computer


3. In the Companion tool, scroll to "Support Zone"


4. Cliquez sur "Start". NOTE: if this is the first time using "Support Zone", it may take a while for the process to commence


5. Under "Phone / Tablet Software Update", click "Start"


6. Cliquez sur "la réparation de mon téléphone / tablette"


7. In the review information screen, click "next"


8. Cliquez sur "Continue", mark the check box and click "Next"


9. Be patient and wait for the Companion tool to download and finish reinstalling your device's software

NOTE: it may take up to, or more than 30 minutes for the Companion tool to download and install the necessary files. There are multiple factors contributing to how long the process takes, including your Internet speed.
