Transfer Contacts from an iPhone to the LG G3

Transferring Contacts using iTunes:

iTunes is one of the most popular music players and syncing tools available, and by using this software you can easily transfer the contacts saved on your iPhone to an Android smartphone, by first syncing the contacts with your Google account. Transferred contacts include their image, address and any other type of information. For this method you are required to have access to a computer with iTunes installed and access to the Internet:

  1. Open iTunes on your PC

  2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect the iPhone to the computer

  3. Once connected, the iPhone will appear in iTunes

  4. Click your iPhone to view its summary page

  5. Access the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box

  6. From the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"

  7. Enter your Google account's log in credentials. Alternatively, you can click "Configure" if you've already added an account before, and you can select it from the list

  8. To start the syncing process click "Apply"

  9. Once the process is complete, register the Google account on the LG G3, and allow it to sync contacts with your smartphone

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

Assuming that you have used the iCloud service on your iPhone prior to finding this guide, then your contacts should be already backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing via an Internet browser on your computer, you can export the contacts in the form of a VCF file. To do so:

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/

  2. Sign in with your iCloud account

  3. Click "Contacts" and select the contacts that you want to export

  4. Click the icon shaped like a cog wheel and select "Export vCard"

  5. Wait for your computer to download the VCF file

  6. Once downloaded, import the file to "Google Contacts"

  7. Alternatively, skip the step above and instead, connect the LG G3 to your computer via USB, copy the file to the phone's storage, and use the contacts app and the "Import" function to import the VCF file's contents to your G3's phonebook

Transferring Contacts via "My Contacts Backup":

In case you don't have access to a computer hooked up to the Internet, you can still transfer your contacts with the help of third party applications such as "My Contacts Backup". This is an iOS application that can back up all of the contacts on the iPhone, and send them to an Android device via email. To do so:

  1. Open the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone

  2. Launch the app and tap "Backup"

  3. After the backup file has been transferred, tap "Email" and attach the file to a new email

  4. Send the email to your own Gmail address

  5. Switch over to the LG G3, and open the email

  6. Download the vCard file attachment, and import its contents through the contacts application, using the "Import" function

Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

Last but not least, you can use "Send Anywhere" to transfer your contacts from the iPhone to the LG G3. Send Anywhere is a third party app that is available on iOS as well as Android, and it can be used to transfer contacts and other types of files cross-platform, without needing a computer. To perform this method of transfer:

  1. Launch the Google Play Store and download "Send Anywhere" on the LG G3

  2. Visit the App Store and install the same app on your iPhone

  3. Launch the application on both devices

  4. From the sender device (the iPhone) tap "Send"

  5. Tap "Contacts" and select the contacts that you wish to share

  6. Tap "Send" and choose a method of transfer. You can tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone and scan the code with the LG G3's camera to commence the transfer. You can also tap "Receive" on the LG G3 and enter the randomly generated code from the iPhone
