How-to: Manage Social Networking (Facebook) on the Nokia Lumia 1020

Adding a Social Networking Account (Facebook):

1. On the Start screen, swipe left


2. Navigate to and tap "Settings"


3. Tap "email + accounts"


4. Tap "add an account"


5. Select the desired social networking account (such as Facebook)


6. Tap the "Email address" field and enter the email address associated with your Facebook account


7. Tap the "Password" field and enter the desired password


8. Tap "Sign in"


9. Select either "Connect" or "not now" when prompted with the "Facebook Chat" display

Viewing Facebook Updates:

1. While on the Start screen, tap the "Me" tile


2. Swipe left to "what's new" to view all the Facebook updates

Updating Your Facebook Status:

1. Tap the "Me" tile located on the Start screen


2. Tap "post an update"


3. Type in the desired status


4. Tap "post"

To Write on Your Friend's Wall:

1. Tap the "People" tile located on the Start screen


2. Swipe to "all"


3. Tap the Facebook profile of a friend and then tap "write on wall"


4. Type in the message and tap "send"

To Comment on a Friend's Status Update:

1. Tap the "People" tile located on the Start screen


2. Swipe left to "what's new"


3. On the desired post, tap "+"


4. Type in your comment and tap "send"

Changing Your Profile Photo:

1. While on the Start screen, tap "People"


2. Swipe to "all"


3. Tap your own contact card located at the top of your contacts list, and tap your photo


4. Tap your photo again and then select a new photo in the "Photos hub"


5. Drag the photo around in order to adjust it for cropping, then press" done" when ready


6. To set where you want to update your photo, press "Post to" and then mark or unmark the desired check boxes


7. Tap "Done" and then "send" when ready

Sharing Photos in Social Networking Services:

1. Tap the "Photos" tile on the Start screen


2. Browse your albums and photos that you wish to share


3. Tap and hold the desired photo, then select "share…"


4. Select the desired social networking service


5. Optionally, add a caption


6. Press "Send" when ready
