How-to: Back Up and Restore Data on the iPhone 5C

Backing Up Data



Backing Up Applications:

1. While on the home screen, tap "Settings"


2. Tap "iCloud"


3. If required to do so, sign in with your Apple ID


4. Tap "Storage & Backup"


5. Tap "iCloud Backup" to set the slider to "ON"

Backing Up Contacts:

1. Tap "Settings" while viewing the home screen,


2. Tap "iCloud"


3. Sign in with your Apple ID, if necessary


4. Tap "Contacts" to switch the slider to "ON"


5. If necessary, select to "Merge" contacts with iCloud

Backing Up Media & Pictures:

1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Settings"


2. Tap "iCloud" and sign in with your Apple ID if prompted to do so


3. Tap "Photo Stream"


4. Tap "My Photo Stream" to set the slider to "ON"

Restoring Data



Restoring Applications:

1. From the home screen, tap "Settings"


2. Tap "iCloud"


3. If requested to do so, sign in with your Apple ID


4. Tap "Storage & Backup"


5. Tap "iCloud Backup" to switch the slider to "ON"

Restoring Contacts:

1. While on the home screen, tap "Settings"


2. Tap "iCloud"


3. When (and if) prompted, log in with your Apple ID


4. Tap "Contacts" to switch the slider in the "ON" position


5. When / if prompted, select to "Merge" contacts with iCloud

Restoring Media & Pictures:

1. Tap "Settings" while on the home screen


2. Tap "iCloud"


3. Sign in to your Apple ID


4. Tap "Photo Stream"


5. Tap "My Photo Stream" to enable this feature
