Restoring Applications:
- If necessary, log into your Google account
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings" and go to the "General" tab
- Press "Accounts"
- Tap "Google" and select your email address
- Mark the check boxes associated with the back up categories that you wish to restore
- Tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts
Restoring Contacts from Your Google or Samsung Account:
- Log into your Google or Samsung account
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Tap the "General" tab
- Go to "Accounts" and tap "Google" or "Samsung"
- Tap your email address located at the top of the screen
- Mark the check box associated with "Sync contacts"
- Tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:
- Make sure that the SD card containing the contacts back up is inserted in your device
- While on the home screen, tap "Contacts"
- Go to the "Contacts" tab
- Press the "Menu" button and select "Import / Export"
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Select the account where you wish to save the contacts
- Tap "Import vCard file" and then press "OK"
- Select the desired vCard file where the files are to be stored, then press "OK"
Restoring Media Files and Pictures
Restoring Media Files Using Your Device:
- From any of the home screens, press "Apps"
- Tap the "Samsung" bundle
- Tap "My Files" > "Device memory"
- Locate the folder containing the desired media or pictures
- Press the "Menu" button and tap "Select item". Then, mark the check box associated with the desired files or folders
- Press the "Menu" button and select "Copy"
- Tap "SD memory card" to enter the device's internal memory
- Navigate to where you wish to restore the files, then tap "Move here"
Restoring Media Files Using Your PC (Windows):
- Connect your smartphone to your PC using the USB cable that came with your handset
- If necessary, tap and drag the "Status" bar down, then tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- On your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Navigate to the desired folder on your handset. Note: the "Card" icon represents your smartphone's SD storage, whereas the "Phone" icon represents your handset's on-board storage
- Drag the back-up files from your computer and drop them in the desired folder on your phone
- Once finished, safely disconnect your phone from your PC
Restoring Media Files Using Your Computer (Mac):
- Connect your smartphone to your Mac computer using the USB cable
- If necessary, tap and drag the "Status" bar down, then tap "Connect as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- On your Mac, open Samsung Kies
- In Kies, click the "Back up / restore" tab
- If necessary, go to the "Restore" tab
- Click the check boxes associated with "Music" and "Photo" (and any other categories that you wish to restore)
- Click "Restore" and if necessary, follow any additional prompts
- Once finished, safely disconnect your phone from your Mac computer
