How-to: Verizon iPhone 4s, 5, 5s or 5c on Metro PCS

Since Metro PCS recently rolled out a bring your own phone plan you can now activate Verizon's iPhones greater than the 4s on their network (you cannot use the 4 since it doesn't have a sim card slot/gsm antenna).



Here's how to do it:

1. Head over to Bring Your Own Phone | Nationwide 4G Coverage | No Contract | MetroPCS


2. Select your phone from the list. If the specific model isn't listed just choose something similar


3. Confirm the IMEI/MEID


4. Your phone is already unlocked from Verizon


5. Continue to follow the prompts to activate service

Notes:

• You will probably not get 4g LTE speeds


• You may have to change your APN settings on the phone to get data and mms messaging

Here is how to change the APN settings:



main menu -> Settings-> General Settings -> Network ->Turn ON Cellular Data

Select Cellular Network -> new APN



Type the following data:



Cellular Data:

APN: internet

Username: YourPhoneNumber@mymetropcs.com

Password: metropcs

MMS:

APN: internet

Username: YourPhoneNumber@mymetropcs.com

Password: metropcs

MMSC: http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc

MMS Proxy: wap.metropcs.net:3128

MMS Message Size: 300000

MMS UA Prof URL: default
