Sony Xperia T2 Ultra: Clear the Cache Partition, Reboot in Safe Mode and Uninstall Third Party Apps

Clearing the Cache Partition:



NOTE: If you're having issues with your smartphone, is unresponsive, it crashes / freezes often, then you might want to clear the cache partition and see if this method helps solving the issues. Unlike applying a factory reset, clearing the cache will not result in loss of personal data stored on the smartphone's memory. To wipe the cache:




  1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold "Volume Up" and "Power"

  2. Keep holding the keys for about 3 seconds, until the smartphone vibrates once

  3. Release the buttons after the screen has turned off completely

  4. Press the "Power" key, and reboot your device as you normally would




Safe Mode



NOTE: Safe mode is a great way to get rid of problematic third party apps that would otherwise prevent you from uninstalling them. This is due to the fact that in safe mode, all third party applications are disabled.



Enabling Safe Mode:




  1. With the smartphone turned on, press and hold the "Power" button

  2. Tap and hold "Power off" on the display

  3. Tap "OK" once you get the safe mode prompt

  4. After your smartphone reboots, you should see a "Safe mode" label on the screen




Uninstalling an Application and Exiting Safe Mode:




  1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon

  2. Tap "Settings"

  3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"

  4. Swipe the screen to the "Downloaded" section

  5. Select the app that you wish to remove

  6. Tap "Uninstall" > "OK"

  7. To exit safe mode, simply press and hold the "Power" key and tap "Power off". Then, press and hold the "Power" button to restart your device as you normally would
