NOTE: master resetting using hardware keys does not work on the Xperia T2 Ultra. However, if your smartphone is frozen or isn't powering on, you can perform the following steps:
Forcing a Shut Down:
In case your smartphone is frozen and won't turn off even if you keep holding the power button, you can perform a forced shut down. To do this:

- If necessary and / or possible, back up the data stored on your phone's internal storage
- While on the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Personal", tap "Back up & reset"
- Clear the "Automatic restore" check box
- Tap "Factory data reset" under "Personal Data"
- Tap "Reset phone"
- Assuming that you have screen lock enabled on your device, you will be required to enter your password or PIN, and tap "Continue"
- Tap "Erase everything" to confirm

NOTE: master resetting using hardware keys does not work on the Xperia T2 Ultra. However, if your smartphone is frozen or isn't powering on, you can perform the following steps:
- Press and hold the "Volume up" and "Power" buttons simultaneously
- Keep holding the buttons for about 10 seconds, or until the smartphone vibrates three times
- After the phone vibrates a third time, release the buttons
- Press the power button and reboot your phone in normal mode
Forcing a Shut Down:
In case your smartphone is frozen and won't turn off even if you keep holding the power button, you can perform a forced shut down. To do this:
- Detach the micro SIM card slot cover
- Use the tip of a pencil or a similar object to press and hold the "OFF" button. NOTE: do not use a sharp, hard object that would damage the button.
- Keep pressing the button until the smartphone shuts down
- Try rebooting your phone in normal mode
