How-to: Add and Manage Various Types of Email Accounts, and Sending / Deleting Emails on the LG G2

Adding an Email Account Manually:

1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button


2. Tap "System settings" and go to the "General" tab


3. Tap "Accounts & sync" under "Personal"


4. Tap "Email" > "Other"


5. Type in your email address and password in the appropriate fields


6. Press "Manual setup"


7. Select either "IMAP4" or "POP3" and then tap "Next"


8. Enter the information for your incoming server


9. Verify the username and password, and if necessary, edit the account name as you desire


10. Tap "Done" > "Next" and enter your outgoing server information


11. Verify the username and password


12. Tap "Done" and then "Next"

Adding a Google Account:

1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" key


2. Tap "System settings"


3. Under "Personal", tap "Accounts & sync"


4. Tap "Add account"


5. Select "Google" > "Existing". (Note: if you wish to create a new account, tap "New" instead and follow the on-screen instructions)


6. Type in your email address and password in the appropriate fields


7. Tap the "Next" arrow


8. In the "Google terms and policy" window, press "OK". Optionally, you can clear the "Keep me up to date" check box


9. Tap "Not now" if you wish to skip the Google Wallet setup. Otherwise, tap "Set up credit card" and follow the instructions


10. If desired, clear the "keep this phone backed up with my Google Account" check box


11. Tap the "Next" arrow to complete the setup

Deleting an Email Account:

1. From any of the home screens, tap the "menu" key


2. Select "System settings"


3. Tap "Accounts & sync" under "Personal"


4. Select the account that you wish to delete


5. Tap the account name located at the top of the screen


6. Press the "Menu" button and select "Remove account"


7. Tap "OK" to confirm

Enabling / Disabling Email Notifications:

1. On the home screen, tap "Apps"


2. Select either "Email" or "Gmail"


3. Press the "Menu" button and select "Settings"


4. Choose the account to edit


5. Scroll down to "Notifications" and then clear or mark the "Notifications" check box

Sending an Email via the "Email" Application:

1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Email"


2. Tap "Write"


3. Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field. Alternatively, tap the "Contacts" icon and select a contact from the list


4. Tap the "Subject" field and enter a subject


5. To attach a file, tap "Attach" and select the type of file that


6. Navigate to and select the desired file, then tap "OK"


7. Tap the "message field" and type in the desired message


8. Press "Send" when ready

Sending an Email via Gmail:

1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"


2. Select "Gmail"


3. Press the "New" icon located in the lower-left corner


4. Enter the recipient's email address in the "To" field


5. Tap the "Subject" field and enter the desired subject


6. To attach a file, press the "Menu" button and select either "Attach picture" or "Attach video"


7. Navigate to the desired file and select it


8. Tap the "Message body" and enter the desired message


9. Once finished, press the "Send" icon located in the upper-right corner of the screen

Deleting Emails in the "Email" Application:

1. From any of the home screen, press "Email"


2. Navigate to, and open the email you wish to delete


3. Press the "Trash can" icon

Deleting Emails in Gmail:

1. While on the home screen, tap "Apps"


2. Press "Gmail"


3. Navigate to the email that you wish to delete and open it


4. Press the "Trash can" icon
