How-to: Back Up and Restore Data, Contacts, Media Files and More on the LG G2

Backing Up Data



Backing Up Apps:

1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"


2. Open "LG Backup"


3. Tap "Backup"


4. Mark the check boxes associated with "LG Apps" and "Downloaded apps"


5. Unmark the check boxes associated with non-app items


6. Tap "Next"


7. Select the backup location "Internal storage" or use the lock when creating backup file


8. Tap "Start"


9. Press "Done"

Backing Up Contacts, Calendar and Messages:

1. From any of the home screens, tap "Apps"


2. Tap "LG Backup"


3. Select "Backup"


4. Mark the check box associated with "Personal data" to back up contacts, the calendar and the messages that are saved to your phone account


5. Unmark the non-app itels


6. Tal "Next"


7. Select the backup location "Internal storage" or "Use the lock when creating backup file"


8. Tap "Start"


9. Press "Done"

Backing Up Media Files:

1. From the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon


2. Tap "LG Backup" and select "Backup"


3. Mark the check box associated with "Media data" to start backing up documents, music, photos and videos


4. Deselect the check for the non-app items


5. Tap "Next" and choose the backup location: "Internal storage" or Use the lock when creating backup file


6. Tap "Start"


7. Tap "Done"

Restoring Data



Restoring Applications, Contacts, Calendar, Messages or Media Files:

1. While on the home screen, press "Apps"


2. Open "LG Backup"


3. Tap "Backup"


4. Select the backup file containing your contacts, media files, calendar, messages or apps


5. Tap "Next"


6. Review the warning information, then press "Start" to confirm


7. Wait for the device to reboot
