Managing Internal Memory Reducing Memory Use

RAM Management Tip: Keep in mind that the manufacturer advises you to restart your smartphone regularly in order to keep RAM management in check. To do so, press and hold the "Power" button, and then tap "Power off and restart"

- Press and hold the "Home" button
- Tap "Task manager"
- Press the "Menu" button on your device, and tap "Settings"
- If necessary, mark the "Auto clear RAM" check box
- Tap "Auto clear period" and select a more frequent auto clear period
Removing Widgets:
- While on the home screen, tap and hold the widget that you wish to remove
- Slide the widget over the "Remove" area and release your finger

- From the home screen, tap and hold an empty space
- Select "Wallpapers"
- Perform one of the following:
- Use a Photo:
- Tap the "Gallery" thumbnail
- Navigate to the desired photo and select it
- Crop the photo by dragging the blue border, and press "OK"
- Use a default wallpaper:
- Tap the row of wallpaper thumbnails and slide left to view more
- Tap the desired wallpaper to apply it
- Use a Photo:
Keeping your Applications Up to Date:
- While on the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Browse for and select "Play Store"
- Press the "Menu" button and then tap "My apps"
- Perform one of the following actions:
- Tap "Update [X]" to update all of the applications
- Select each application individually, and tap "Update"
Using the Task Manager to View Running Apps and Close Them:
- While on the home screen, press "Apps"
- Browse for and tap "Task Manager"
- To stop applications individually, tap the "Stop" button associated with the app. To stop all running apps, press "Stop all"
Stopping Services:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Browse for and tap "Task Manager"
- Press "Stop" next to an app, or tap "Stop all"
- Press the "Menu" button and go to "Settings"
- Tap "Stop services" and then mark the check boxes associated with the services that you wish to stop
- Tap "OK"
- Press "OK" once more after reviewing the warning notice
Viewing the Amount of Free Memory:
- From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "System settings"
- Press the "General" icon located in the top-right corner
- Select "Apps"
- Slide the screen left until you see the "Running" screen. Here you can view the "free" RAM value

- Select the email address that you wish to edit
- Tap "Days of mail to sync"
- Tap the number wheel and select "3"
- Tap "OK"
Managing Applications:

- Tap "System settings"
- Under "Device", tap "Apps"
- Slide the screen left until you reach the "All" screen
- To sort apps from the largest to smallest, press the "Menu" button and tap "Sort by size"
- Select the application that you wish to uninstall
- Tap "Uninstall" and tap "OK" to confirm
Viewing the Amount of Free Space:
- While on the home screen, press "Menu"
- Select "System settings"
- Tap "Storage" under "Device"
- Under "Internal Storage" you can view the "Available" value
