How-to: Add and Manage Your Email Accounts on the iPhone 5S

Account Management



Adding an Email Account Manually:

1. From the home screen, tap "Settings"


2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"


3. Tap "Add Account…"


4. Select the desired email option, such as "Microsoft Exchange", "mobileme", "Google Mail", "Yahoo!", "AOL" or "Other (POP3 and IMAP)"


5. Type in your email address and password, as well as any other information that may be requested


6. Tap "Next"


7. Choose whether or not to sync Contacts, Calendars and other options


8. Tap "Save"

Deleting an Email Account:

1. From the home screen, press "Settings"


2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"


3. Under "Accounts" select the email account that you wish to delete


4. Tap "Delete Account" and then tap "Delete from my iPhone"

Enabling or Disabling Email Notifications:

1. From the home screen, tap "Settings"


2. Select "Sounds" and tap "New Mail"


3. Change the "Alert Tones" and "Vibration". To turn off alert, set the "Alert Tone" to "None"

Email Message Management



Attaching a File and Sending an Email:

1. While on the home screen, tap "Photos"


2. Select the photo that you wish to be mailed


3. Tap the arrow icon located in the lower-left corner of the screen


4. Tap "Mail"


5. Enter the email address of the recipient and then write your message


6. When ready, tap "Send"

Deleting Emails:

1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Mail"


2. If necessary, open the account that you wish to use


3. Select the message that you want to delete


4. Tap the "Trash Can" icon to delete the previously selected message
