How-to: Send and Manage Messages (SMS / MMS) on the iPhone 5S

Sending Messages



Sending a Group Text Message (SMS):

1. While on the home screen, tap "Messages"


2. Tap the "New Message" icon located in the upper-left corner of the screen


3. In the "To" field, enter the phone number or the recipient's contact name. Note: you can repeat this step if you wish to add more than one recipients


4. Type in the message in the appropriate field


5. Press "Send" when ready

Sending a New Picture or Video in a Multimedia Message (MMS):

1. While on the home screen, tap "Messages"


2. Press the "New Message" icon


3. Type in the recipient's phone number or contact name in the "To" field


4. Press the "Camera" icon


5. Tap "Take Photo or Video" and then capture a photo or a vide


6. Press "Use Photo"


7. If necessary, type in your message in the appropriate field


8. Tap "Send"

Sending a Saved Picture or Video in a Multimedia Message (MMS):

1. From the home screen, press "Messages"


2. Tap the "New Message" icon located in the upper-left corner of the screen


3. Type in the recipient's phone number or contact name in the "To" field


4. Tap the "Camera" icon and select "Choose Existing"


5. Select the desired photo or video and tap "Choose"


6. Tap "Send" when ready

Manage Messages



Deleting Text or Multimedia Messages:

1. From the home screen, press "Messages"


2. Tap "Edit"


3. Tap the red "-" icon associated with the thread containing the message that you wish to delete


4. Tap "Delete" and then tap "Done" to confirm

Saving Pictures Received via Multimedia Messages:

1. After receiving the message, open it and tap the picture that you wish to save


2. Press the icon depicting an arrow pointing upwards (located at the bottom-left corner)


3. Tap "Save Image"
