Alcatel One Touch Evolve - how to disable roaming

Plan on travelling overseas with the phone only to use the Wifi feature and to text.



How can I disable roaming so that it doesn't connect to other networks because I will be charged for roaming. Or, should I remove the phone's Sim carte?



How can I use texting when I'm in a different country? I think I'd have to connect to a roaming network and then text.
