Sony Xperia T2 Ultra: Personalize Your Device with Custom Ringtones and Notification Sounds

Transferring Audio Sounds from a Windows Computer:




  1. Establish a connection between your computer and Xperia T2 Ultra, using the USB cable

  2. An "AutoPlay" window should pop-up on your computer. Click to browse the phone's files and folders

  3. Open the "Internal storage" folder on the device

  4. Open the "Music" or "Notifications" folder

  5. Launch a new Windows Explorer window on your computer, and navigate to where the desired audio files are located

  6. Copy the desired audio files, and paste them on your phone's memory, in the "Music" or "Notifications" folder (depending on what you wish to use the audio files for)

  7. Once the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray

  8. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"

  9. You can now disconnect your smartphone




Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:




  1. Using the method above, transfer the desired audio files in the "Music" folder

  2. On the home screen, tap the "Applications" icon

  3. Open "Settings"

  4. Under "Device", tap "Sound"

  5. Tap "Phone ringtone" under "Ringtone & vibration"

  6. Tap the "Music" icon located in the top-right corner

  7. Select the file that you wish to set as your phone's ringtone

  8. Tap "Done"




Changing the Ringtone for One Contact:




  1. After transferring the audio files in the "Music" folder, tap the "Phone" icon

  2. Access the "Contacts" tab

  3. Select the contact that you wish to assign a custom ringtone to

  4. Tap "Edit contact" (the icon in the upper-right area of the display)

  5. Tap the "Ringtone" drop-down menu

  6. Press the "Music" icon in the top-right corner

  7. Select the desired ringtone and tap "Done"

  8. Tap "Done" again to confirm and save the changes




Changing the Notifications Sounds:




  1. Use the method described above to transfer the custom audio files in the "Notifications" folder

  2. From the home screen, tap "Applications"

  3. Open the "Settings" menu

  4. Tap "Sound" under "Device"

  5. Under "System", tap "Default notification sound"

  6. Select the desired audio file. NOTE: the newly transferred audio files should be located at the bottom of the list

  7. Tap "Done"
