Transfer Contacts from an iPhone to the Samsung Galaxy Star Pro

Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

iTunes can be used to synchronize contacts from your iPhone to a Google account, allowing you to then pick up the contacts on the Android smartphone with ease. For this method, you are required to have access to a computer with Internet, and iTunes installed.

  1. Open iTunes on your computer

  2. Establish a connection between the iPhone and computer via USB

  3. Once connected, your smartphone should appear in iTunes. Click it.

  4. From the summary page of the device, access the "Info" tab

  5. Mark the check box associated with "Sync Contacts With", and then choose "Google Contacts" form the drop-down list

  6. Register your Google account in iTunes. If you've done this before, you can click "Configure" and select an existing account from the list

  7. To begin the syncing process, click "Apply"

  8. After the contacts have been synced, register the same Google account on your Galaxy Star Pro. To add an account, go to "Settings" > "Accounts"

  9. Set the account so that it syncs contacts with your Android smartphone

Using iCloud to Transfer Contacts:

As long as iCloud is activated on your iPhone, your contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. By visiting the iCloud webpage and signing in with your account, you can export your contacts in the form of a vCard file. To do so, you are required to have access to a computer with Internet.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer, and visit https://www.icloud.com/

  2. Sign in with your iCloud account, and click "Contacts"

  3. From the list of contacts, select the ones that you want to export

  4. Click the button depicting a cog wheel, located in the bottom-left area

  5. Select "Export vCard", and wait for your computer to download a VCF file containing your iPhone contacts

  6. Import the vCard file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively, you can connect the Galaxy Star Pro to your computer via USB, and copy the VCF file to the "sdcard" directory on your phone. Afterwards, launch the "People" app, press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card" > Pick an account > load the proper VCF file

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

If you don't have access to a computer in order to transfer your contacts, you can still complete the task with the help of applications. "My Contacts Backup" is an iOS app that can back up your iPhone contacts in a vCard file, which can then be sent to your Galaxy Star Pro via email.

  1. From the App Store, download "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone

  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"

  3. After the backup file is complete, tap "Email" to attach the file to a new email

  4. Enter your own Gmail address as the email's recipient

  5. Send the email to your own address

  6. On the Galaxy Star Pro, open the email and download the attached vCard file

  7. Import the file's contents using the "People" application, and through the "Import / Export" function

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Last but not least, if you're looking for a way of transferring files and contacts through a P2P connection without needing a computer, then "Send Anywhere" might be what you're looking for. To complete the transfer using this method:

  1. Visit the App Store and install "Send Anywhere" on your iPhone

  2. Launch the Google Play Store and download the same app on your Galaxy Star Pro

  3. Open the application on both smartphones

  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" and select "Contacts"

  5. Mark the contacts that you wish to share with the Android device

  6. When ready, tap "Send"

  7. Lastly, select a method of transfer. By tapping "Generate QR Code" you can generate a code that can be scanned with the Star Pro's camera to commence the transfer. You can also tap "Receive" on the Samsung device, and type in the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone
