If I want to use my wifi instead of cell data, is this the correct setting?

Defining Internet Connections:

On the Start screen, swipe left

Tap "Settings"

Go to "Wi-Fi"

Make sure that "Wi-Fi networking" is enabled

Select the connection that you wish to use

To use a mobile data connection:

On the Start screen, swipe left and go to "Settings"

Tap "cellular"

Switch "Data connection" to "On"

I believe I read that if I enable both mobile data and wifi, the phone (1020) will automatically use wifi when available minimizing the data charges. So I would probably want to keep mobile data and wifi on all the time, is this correct?

Adding a New Event:

While on the Start screen, scroll to and tap the "Calendar" tile

Tap "month"

Navigate to the desired month and tap a date when you wish to set a new event

Press the "add" icon depicting a "+" symbol

Tap the "Subject" field and type in a name for the event

Tap the "Location" field and enter a location

Touch an empty space on the screen to make the keyboard disappear, and then tap the "Time field"

Press, hold and scroll the time boxes up and down to set the correct time for the event

Tap "Done"

Touch any additional fields if you desire, and enter more information

Press "Save" when ready

Editing or Deleting an Appointment:

Tap the "Calendar" tile located on the Start screen

Tap "Month" and navigate to the desired date

Select the appointment that you wish to edit or delete

How-to: Browse the Web and Manage Internet Connections on the Nokia Lumia 1020

Defining Internet Connections:

On the Start screen, swipe left

Tap "Settings"

Go to "Wi-Fi"

Make sure that "Wi-Fi networking" is enabled

Tap the "menu" icon

Tap "add to favorites".

Tips: You can pin your favorite websites to the Start screen, by pressing the "menu" icon and selecting "pin to start". You can also quickly access your favorites by adding the favorites icon to the address bar. To do so, tap the "menu" icon > "settings" > "Use address bar button for" > "favorites"

Sharing a Web Page:

Make sure that "tap+send" is enabled. (Swipe left on the Start screen > "Settings" > "tap+send" and tap the "NFC sharing" switch to bring it in the "On" position)

Tap the "Internet Explorer" tile on the Start screen

Access the desired website

Tap the "menu" icon, then tap "share page" > "tap+send"

Touch the other phone with your phone to share the website via NFC

Note: to share the webpage via email, text message or a social network, tap the "menu" icon while browsing, then tap "share page" and select the desired method of sharing

Clearing the Browser History:

Tap the "Internet Explorer" tile located on the Start screen

Tap the "menu" icon (3 horizontal dots)

Tap "Settings" > "delete history"

Tip: To delete an individual item from your browsing history, tap "menu" > "recent" > tap the "list" icon then select the item that you wish to delete and tap the "trash can" icon

Closing All Internet Connections:

On the Start screen, swipe left and go to "Settings"

Tap "Wi-Fi" and disable "Wi-Fi networking"

To close a mobile data connection:

Sending Your Location in a Message:

Write the subject and the desired message in the appropriate fields

Reading an Email and Saving an Attachment:

Samsung Gravity T459 Aqua: Send text msg to e-mail address on T459

Hi everyone,

I just switched to a T459 Aqua after many years on a Razr, which I loved.

The Razr was able to do something for me very easily, and the T459 doesn't seem to do it. I just want to send a text msg to an e-mail address without having to log into an e-mail service on the phone.

The Razr did it beautifully all the time, so I was actually a bit shocked to encounter this problem. I'm on T-Mobile basic plan and I don't want a data plan.

Any suggestions?
