How-to: Use the Calendar app on the Nokia Lumia 1020 – Create / Accept Events and More

Adding a New Event:

1. While on the Start screen, scroll to and tap the "Calendar" tile


2. Tap "month"


3. Navigate to the desired month and tap a date when you wish to set a new event


4. Press the "add" icon depicting a "+" symbol


5. Tap the "Subject" field and type in a name for the event


6. Tap the "Location" field and enter a location


7. Touch an empty space on the screen to make the keyboard disappear, and then tap the "Time field"


8. Press, hold and scroll the time boxes up and down to set the correct time for the event


9. Tap "Done"


10. Touch any additional fields if you desire, and enter more information


11. Press "Save" when ready

Editing or Deleting an Appointment:

1. Tap the "Calendar" tile located on the Start screen


2. Tap "Month" and navigate to the desired date


3. Select the appointment that you wish to edit or delete


4. Tap the "Edit" icon and make the desired changes


5. Press "Save"


6. To delete an appointment, select it then tap "delete"


7. Press "delete" once again to confirm your action

Accepting or Rejecting a Calendar Invite:

1. Tap the "Mail" tile located on the Start screen


2. Select the email containing the invitation


3. Tap the "menu" icon


4. Tap "respond" and then tap either "accept" or "decline"


5. If you wish, you can tap the "comment" field and enter a message


6. Press "Send" when ready". Note: accepting an invitation will automatically create a new event in your calendar

Using Multiple Calendars:



When using more email accounts on your device, the Calendar app will show you the calendar for each of your accounts

1. On the start screen, swipe left


2. Tap "Calendar"


3. To show or hide a calendar, tap the "menu" icon and select "settings", then switch the calendar "on" or "off". Note: when a calendar is hidden, the reminders and events on that calendar will not be displayed in different calendar views

Tip: To change the color for each calendar, tap the "menu" icon > "settings", select the current color and then a new color
