Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition: Back Up Personal Data

Backing Up Application Data:




  1. From the home screen, press "Menu"

  2. Robinet"Réglages"

  3. Go to the "Comptes" tab and then tap "Sauvegarde et reset"

  4. If necessary, tap "Backup account">"Nouveau compte" and follow the instructions to log in or create an account

  5. If required, mark the check boxes next to "Backup my data" and "Backup account"




Contact Backup



Backing Up Contacts on a Samsung or Google Account:




  1. Robinet"contacts" from the home screen

  2. Presse"Menu« et tap »Merge accounts"

  3. Select to "Merge with Google" or "Merge with Samsung"

  4. If necessary, sign in with your Google or Samsung account




Backing Up Contacts to the SD Card:




  1. Make sure the SD card is inserted

  2. Robinet"Contacts" from the home screen

  3. Presse"Menu« et tap »Contacts to display">"All contacts"

  4. Presse"Menu« et tap »Import / Export"

  5. Robinet"Export to SD card" and make sure you remember the backup file's name

  6. Robinet"OK"




Media File Backup



Backing Up Media Files Using the Smartphone:




  1. Robinet"Apps" lors de l'affichage de l'écran d'accueil

  2. Open "My Files"

  3. Robinet"All files">"Device storage"

  4. Navigate to where the desired files are located. REMARQUE: pictures taken with the "Camera" app are found in the "DCIM" folder. Other media files can be found in "Downloads", "Notifications" etc.

  5. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired files or folders

  6. Exploiter les »menu" icon located in the upper-right corner

  7. Robinet"Copy" or "Move"

  8. Navigate to where you wish to back up the files

  9. Robinet"Paste here" or "Move here"




Backing Up Media Files Using a Windows Computer:




  1. Establish a connection between your SGS4 Value Edition and PC via USB

  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "connected as a media device"

  3. Mark the "Media device" check box

  4. On the PC, click to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"

  5. Locate the desired files stored on your phone's internal or external memory

  6. Copy the files, and paste them in the desired back up location on your computer's HDD

  7. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone




Backing Up Media Files Using a Mac Computer:



REMARQUE: Skip the first 3 steps if Samsung Kies is installed on your Mac




  1. Open the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies

  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and download the installer

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and install Kies on your Mac

  4. On the smartphone, swipe the "Status" bar down

  5. Robinet"Connected as a media device">"Dispositif multimédia (MTP)"

  6. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / Restore"Onglet

  7. Click the "Backup"Onglet

  8. Mark the check boxes next to "Music", "Photo" and any other type of media file you wish to backup. Alternatively, tap "Select all items"

  9. Click "Backup" and wait for the process to complete

  10. Once done, safely disconnect your smartphone by ejecting it from the Mac's desktop
