From the Smartphone:
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
Restoring Applications:
- Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
- Open "Settings"
- Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
- Tap "Backup account" and select the account on which the backup was initially created. NOTE: Tap "Add account" if necessary, and follow the on-screen steps to add the backup account to your phone
- Mark the check box associated with "Automatic Restore"
Restoring Contacts:
- Open the apps drawer
- Tap "Backup & restore"
- Tap "Restore data now" and mark the "Contacts" check box
- Tap "Continue"
- When the process is done, press "Finish"
Restoring Media Files
From the Smartphone:
- Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
- Launch "File Commander" and tap "SD Card"
- Locate the files you wish to restore
- Mark the check boxes associated with the desired items
- Tap the "Copy" button located in the upper side of the display
- Go back to the File Commander's main menu
- Tap "Internal storage" and select the folder you wish to restore the files in
- Tap the icon showing a notepad and a pencil, and tap "Paste"
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the Z3 Compact and PC
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to browse the phone's files
- Go to the phone's "Internal Storage" directory
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your computer
- Copy the files and transfer them on your phone's internal memory
- After the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon from the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now disconnect your smartphone from the computer
