REMARQUE: If necessary, visit Kies, click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies on your Mac.
Restoring Applications:
- Sign in with your Samsung or Google account, depending on which one you used for the backup
- Go to the phone's "Settings" menu
- Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
- Tap "Google" or "Samsung"
- Tap your email address at the top of the screen and press "Sync All"
- Press the "Back" key twice to return to the "User and Backup" menu
- Tap "Backup and reset" and then check / uncheck the boxes next to "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore"
Restoring Contacts
From a Google or Samsung Account:
- Sign in with your Google or Samsung account if necessary (the one used for the initial backup)
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- Swipe to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
- Tap "Google" or "Samsung" and touch the "email address" at the top of the screen
- If necessary, mark the "Sync contacts" check box
- Tap "Sync now"
From the SD Card:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Contacts"
- Access the "Contacts" tab
- Press "Menu" and tap "Settings" > "Contacts"
- Choose to "Import / Export" and then tap "Import from SD Card"
- If necessary, select an account and follow the on-screen steps to import the VCF file to your phonebook
Restoring Media Files
From the SD Card:
- Tap "Apps" while viewing the home screen
- Launch "My Files"
- Tap "All files" > "SD Card"
- Tap the "Menu" icon in the top-right corner of the screen
- Tap "Select" and mark the check boxes associated with the files you wish to restore
- Tap the "Menu" icon again and select "Move"
- Tap "Device storage" and tap "Move here"
- To move the files in a different location on your phone, tap the folder name or tap "Create Folder", and tap "Move here" when ready
From a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge to your computer via USB
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap the "Media device (MTP)" check box
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer, select to "Open device to view files"
- Navigate to where you wish to restore the files on your phone
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the location of the backed up files
- Copy the files and transfer them on your phone
- After the transfer is done, click the "Mass Storage Device" icon in the system tray and safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer
Using a Mac Computer:
REMARQUE: If necessary, visit Kies, click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the on-screen instructions to install Kies on your Mac.
- Connect the Galaxy Note Edge to your Mac using the USB cable
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
- Launch Kies on your computer and click the "Back up / restore" tab
- Click the "Restore" tab if necessary
- Mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" and any other types of media files you wish to restore
- Click "Restore" and if necessary, follow any additional prompts to complete the process
- When done, eject the phone's storage from the Mac's desktop and safely disconnect the device
